Letter for Rommel Duran

On May 1, 2015 lawyer Rommel Duran tried to visit a number of clients who were arrested during protests in Bucaramanga. When he arrived at the police station, he was not allowed to visit his clients. He had to wait for hours before he saw his clients and while waiting he was insulted and physically assaulted by officials of the Intelligence Police (SEJIN) who were there.

Lawyers for Lawyers asked attention for these incidents in letters to the authorities, and pointed out that the protection of Rommel Duran by the Colombian government is insufficient. Lawyers for Lawyers called on the Colombian authorities also to make it possible for Rommel Duran its work to do this without improper interference.
