The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute argues that lawyers in China continue to face improper interference in their professional work and serious violations of their rights. On 9 December 2015 the United Nations Committee against Torture published recommendations to China in order to safeguard lawyers’ rights. These recommendations have not been implemented yet.
