The Law Society of Upper Canada expresses grave concern about the arrest, conviction and detention of lawyer Talgat Ayanov in Kazakhstan, thereby urging the Government of Kazakhstan to comply with Kazakhstan’s obligations under international human rights laws, including the United Nations’ Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
