The Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) has urged the government to drop the charge against lawyer Siti Kasim over the alleged obstruction of a public servant in carrying out her functions, citing protections stated under the United Nations (UN). Suhakam chairman Razali Ismail said the UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers protects legal professionals who play a vital role in upholding human rights.
