The present report sets out Amnesty International’s current human rights concerns in Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan and Kabardino-Balkaria. Amnesty International calls on the Russian authorities to bring an end to human rights abuses in the North Caucasus by taking effective measures. Amnesty recommends to Russia to respect and protect the right of human rights defenders, lawyers, journalists and civil society activists to conduct their work without hindrance, intimidation or harassment, in line with the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
