The present document of the Asian Human Rights Commission concerns the Sri Lankan legal justice system. The report tries to picture why the system, according to the AHRC, fails. The AHRC states that the Basic principles on the Role of Lawyers provide for a number of rights and responsibilities for lawyers based on the international agreement that in the interest of fairness and equality, all individuals, including those accused or convicted of criminal activity, are entitled to unfettered legal representation.
