In a petition, the Haldane society of socialist lawyers calls on UK PM David cameron to stop intervening in the work of human rights lawyer Phil Shiner, thereby referring to article 16(a) of the Basic principles on the Role of lawyers, which states that ‘Governments shall ensure that lawyers (a) are able to perform all of their professional functions without intimidation, hindrance, harassment or improper interference’.
