The present document of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) concerns a letter to the Minister of Justice of Turkey. The ICJ believes that, in reality, the charge against the lawyers was brought to punish them for representing evicted villagers. This charge thus constituted an outright attack on lawyers in violation of the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
