In this press release the Centre for the Independence of Judges and Lawyers (CIJL), a component of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), reports that there has been a marked deterioration in the professional situation of lawyers in Egypt. Reference is made to several violations of the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
