This document contains information supplied by Governments, as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), relating to the follow-up measures to recommendations of the Special Rapporteur made following country visits.The Special Rapporteur recommends that given the numerous reports of inadequate legal counsel provided by State-appointed lawyers, measures should be taken to improve legal aid service, in compliance with the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
