In this article an example of the son of a lawyer who was taken away by the police is used to illustrate this. Many lawyers are detained in China and no one seems to know the whereabouts of these lawyers. China is breaking the UN Declaration of Human Rights, as well as the UN Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers. Several UN human rights investigators stated that lawyers should never have to suffer prosecution or any other kind of sanctions or intimidation for discharging their professional duties.
