The present report of Human Rights Watch is based on research in the cities of Harare, Bulawayo, Masvingo, Mutare and Bindura, and describes the human rights situation in Zimbabwe. The report highlights how, according to HRW, the Zimbabwe authorities have repeatedly breached and violated the human rights of its citizens with complete impunity. Human Rights Watch calls on the government to ensure that its security forces respect international obligations such as the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
