The present document of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) concerns the Sudanese judiciary since the enactment of the new Constitution which states that the judiciary shall be independent. The ICJ refers to the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers with regard to the right to participate in the discussion of matters concerning the law, the administration of justice and the protection and promotion of human rights, without suffering professional restrictions resulting from their lawful actions.
