The present report outlines Amnesty International’s concerns relating to the torture and ill-treatment of detainees by police in Albania. International legal standards also oblige Albania to ensure that penal procedures and conditions of detention are not conducive to torture and ill-treatment, by protecting basic rights of detainees, including several principles of the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
