The present document by Human Rights Watch calls for Libyan authorities to allow recently captured Saif al-Islam Gaddafi immediate access to a lawyer.  This is in line with Libya’s code of criminal procedure and international standards, including the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers requiring defendants be granted prompt access to a lawyer, no later than 48 hours after arrest.
