The present document of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) elaborates on the law and practice of the legal profession on Nepal. The ICJ states that lawyers representing detainees are frequently denied access to information regarding the charges faced by their clients and may not consult with their clients in privacy so as to provide effective advice. The ICJ concludes that this violates the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
