The present report of Human Rights Watch (HRW) details extrajudicial killings, torture, illegal detention, forced confessions and other abuses by the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) of the Uganda Police Force. HRW recommends that Uganda’s government must comply with the provisions of its own constitution and fulfill its core obligations under international human rights law, such as the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
