Article 2 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights: concerns about the legal profession in Asia

The present document of the Asian Legal Resource Centre (ALRC) covers its concerns on the right to effective remedy in Asia.  The ALRC calls to define and protect the right and duty of lawyers to advocate for their clients free from harassment, interference or punishment. According to the ALRC, the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers and Basic Principles on the Role of Prosecutors can be used as references for this purpose.
