The present report of Amnesty International concerns Amnesty’s concern on the issue of criminal proceedings against people charged under anti-terrorism legislation in Turkey. This report focuses on people charged between early 1993 and the end of 2004 whose cases are still ongoing. Amnesty refers to several violations of the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers in the light of the issue of restrictions on the right to an effective defence.
