In this report the OSCE analyses the criminal justice system in Albania. It refers to Basic Principle 26 when it examines the general recognized principle that the professional conduct of lawyers is governed by codes of conduct (ethics codes) established and adopted by the legal profession. Furthermore, it resides the Basic Principles 28 and 29 when it refers to the generally recognized principle that where lawyers fail to act in accordance with their professional standards, disciplinary proceedings should be brought before a disciplinary committee established by the legal profession, a statutory authority or a court, and be subject to independent judicial review.
