The present document concerns several cases of imprisonment on grounds of sexual orientation in Egypt. Amnesty International calls on all governments to make the principle of nondiscrimination a reality in practice as well as law. No one shall be discriminated on any grounds such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Amnesty refers to the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers with regard to access to a lawyer for all people datained.
