The present report concerns the implementation of international human rights safeguards in Iran, including in connection with freedom of expression and association and the administration of justice. The report aims to inform and support the arguments of all those engaged in seeking reform of Iran’s judicial system in line with its international human rights obligations. Sources referred to in this report relate to minimum international standards concerning administration of justice and the duties of lawyers, prosecutors and the judiciary including the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers.
