The present document of Amnesty International concerns the case of Ta Mok in Cambodia. Ta Mok was arrested on Saturday 6 March 1999. He was held in incommunicado detention until a meeting on 8 or 9 April 1999 with a lawyer who agreed to take up his case. This is according to Amnesty International a clear breach of all the domestic law and international standards relating to the detention of suspects and the treatment of those in detention.
