Civil and political rights, including the questions of: independence of the judiciary, administration of justice, impunity

The present report concerns a report of the Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers. The situation of civil and political rights in various countries are discovered. With regard to Turkey the Special Rapporteur urges the Government to observe the United Nations Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers, and in particular not to identify lawyers with their clients’ causes.
