The present report concerns a fact-finding mission to Colombia undertaken from 15 to 27 September 1996 by the Special Rapporteur on the independence of judges and lawyers to inquire into any substantial allegations transmitted to him and report his conclusions thereon. In the report various violations of the Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers in Colombia are discussed.
